I missed this one somehow! Very much enjoyed all of it. Interesting thoughts re: the Vault. For me, trying to do get a song from 0 to 100% once a month is a challenge, and there is no way I could pick up the pace just based on what my life is like these days (that minimal brooklyn living looks real nice to me these days, ha). I guess it depends on what works for you as an artist and where you are in your journey. But it is true that so many are creating their own vaults and it is kinda cool that they can exist online in an open forum.

Pleasure to hear your perspective on these :) I’m so envious of that minimal life!

It's constant negotiation over here. Time and body+mind space for the important things seem to get stretched to their limits — but then also reveal themselves to be more elastic than previously imagined. (Sometimes doing more enables me to do more, but only sometimes??)

The experiments shall continue … very likely that many of them unfold in public view, perhaps in collective discussion along with everyone else trying to figure these things out.

Also I realized when you said 0 to 100% that those numbers deserve context too, depending on one’s definition of a finished song. Earlier I meant just the composition leg of the song-journey but I failed to be clear about that 😅

For sure, it’s my pleasure to read, listen and follow the journey!

Yes, re: productivity sometimes enables more productivity, I think I need to expend a variety of types of energy at different points to keep going in sustainable ways. It’s pretty much an impossible balancing act.

well…0-100% might have been an exaggeration, since who knows when something starts and ends and I’m still questioning everything that I’ve ever posted. But also that’s kind of what I’m trying to do. Start. Stop. Let it go. Next.

GREAT NOW I’M QUESTIONING THAT METHOD. HAhaha. Thanks for the dialogue, and I’ll look forward to the experiments!

hahaha this is entirely great because now my only takeaway is that we’re all a mess and that’s ok
